Terms

Free Grade 1 braille tools, provided as-is. Please read the boundaries - especially around vision-care, certification, and how you present copied output.
Agreement
By using BrailleLabBase you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. We may update this page; the "Last updated" date at the top is the version marker.
The service
BrailleLabBase provides free browser tools for Grade 1 (uncontracted) English braille learning and casual conversion: translator, alphabet, numbers, practice, and related explainers. Features may change as we add or fix pages. There is no paid "pro" tier required to convert.
License to use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the free browser tools for learning, teaching demos, and short convert jobs. Do not scrape, mirror, or rehost the site as if it were your product, or overload the host in a way that harms other visitors.
Acceptable use
- Personal learning and classroom demos
- Checking short Grade 1 phrases on screen
- Reporting bugs with reproducible examples
Do not present output as certified literary transcription when it is not. Do not use the site to harass, break the law, or attack the infrastructure.
No medical or certification claims
Do not rely on this site for medical decisions, vision-care, rehab planning, school placement, or certified literary transcription. If you need those, use a qualified professional or specialist tooling. Quiz scores here are practice feedback, not credentials.
Your responsibility for output
You are responsible for how you use copied braille. Fonts, embossers, exam rules, and publisher styles differ. We do not promise the output meets any institution's standard. Treat convert results as a draft check unless you have verified them for your use case.
As-is disclaimer
Tools are provided as-is under applicable law, without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Grade 1 mappings aim to follow common English literary learning tables; see methodology for scope.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses from using or being unable to use the tools, including relying on output for production, exams, or accessibility decisions. If a convert looks wrong, check methodology and contact us with an example.
Third-party links and ads
The site may link to external reading (for example BANA or Perkins materials). Those sites have their own terms. Reserved ad slots may appear; if live ads load later, ad partners have their own policies. Tool behavior does not depend on ads filling.
Changes
We may change these terms by updating this page. Continued use after the new "Last updated" date means you accept the revised terms. If you disagree, stop using the site.
